This course is designed to create a solid foundation for new shooters, first-time handgun owners, and those preparing to get their concealed carry. The focus is on safe weapon handling and becoming familiar with grip, stance, sight alignment/sight picture, and trigger control. Both iron sight and red dot handguns are welcome.

The classroom portion will give an overview of handguns, followed by a hands-on workshop with inert guns to cover the fundamentals of shooting. During this time, airsoft guns will be used to simulate real shooting scenarios. Students will also be able to use their handguns in dryfire exercises. Each student will have the opportunity to participate in this workshop to get the technique down.

Objective: To provide a thorough understanding of safe handgun handling, focusing on grip, sights, and trigger through simulation training. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation to build upon for live-fire training.

Length: 5-hour course (~4 hours in the classroom and simulation setup with dryfire practice. There will be some breaks throughout, including a brief lunch break).

Pre-requisites: None. This is an entry-level course. However, regardless of your firearm experience, we tailor the course based on the student's skillset so all levels will improve.

Handgun (for dryfire exercises)

Handgun Holster (Leather, Nylon, shoulder, cross-draw, or SERPA holsters are PROHIBITED; we explain why during the course)

Notepad and pen (Take Notes!)

Water/Drinks (We will provide some water, but if you have a specific preference, please bring it)

Lunch; can either bring something or run out and grab something. We will take 45 minutes for lunch.

Provided:

Airsoft guns (mimicking Glock 45, 17, and 19 dimensions)

Airsoft magazines

A simulator will be used for the dryfire/weapon handling portions of the course.

Hey there, I'm Scott and I'm passionate about helping people become proficient in self-defense. With over 16 years of experience, nine instructor certifications, and over 1000 hours of handgun training, I have the skills and expertise to guide you towards reaching your full potential.

I founded Advent Training in 2020 after becoming frustrated with other training courses. My aim is to provide personalized classes that cater to your unique needs, as I believe there is no "one size fits all" approach when it comes to self-defense.

As an analyst by profession and personality, I am data-driven and find it to be the most efficient and quickest way to a solution. I have trained with some of the best instructors in the industry, and I understand that training is an investment of both time and money.

Unlike cookie-cutter teaching methods that fail to acknowledge individual skill levels, I strive to tailor instruction to each student's needs.
